Costa Rica Fishing Charters – Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. A valid Costa Rica fishing license is absolutely required for all anglers and guests. You can get the licenses at the Los Sueños Marina or online through the official INCOPESCA website.
The Central Pacific offers excellent fishing year-round. Depending on the season, common catches include mahi-mahi, sailfish, marlin, tuna, roosterfish, snapper, and wahoo. Visit our fishing calendar page for more detailed information.
Half-day trips are great for beginners, families, and anyone short on time. Full-day charters allow you to run farther offshore and offer much better opportunities for billfish and larger pelagic species.
Most charters include the boat, licensed captain and crew, fishing gear, bait, ice, and basic refreshments. Inclusions vary by boat, and we’ll confirm the details before you book. Transportation to and from the marina is not included, but JacoVIP can arrange private transfers if needed.
