El Chorro is an advanced Class IV Rapids section of the Naranjo River.

The Chorro section of the Costa RIca Naranjo River starts in the small mountain village of Esquipulas. This white water rafting experience carves deep into the river’s exposed bedrock with approximately 3 kilometers (2 miles) of navigating through a scenic gorge with exhilarating steep drops and fast turns through many technical narrows and chutes.

Self Driving:

You must arrive at the first meeting location in Quepos area for 8am. We will supply you with directions and GPS coordinates.
From there, the tour operator will bring you to base camp at the top of the river. Approximately 60 minutes scenic drive.
If you have a Daily Driver included with your Jaco VIP Vacation Package, you can use this for transportation.

Your guide will assist in maneuvering through the challenging boulders and bends while a backup kayaker will be near by. Inbetween the rushes of adrenaline take a moment to admire the lush tropical jungle around you as this river borders the Manuel Antonio National Park.

This is one of the most incredible rafting tours in all of Costa Rica and highly recommended by those who have been rafting all over the world, but keep in mind the difficulty level is considered "HIGH".

This tour is recommended for individuals in strong physical condition!
Available seasonally from January to May and depends on river conditions.
There is a 45 minute ride from base camp to the start of the rafting site in the mountain village of Esquipulas.
This white water rafting experience is considered "HIGH" on the difficulty level. Although previous experience is technically not required, good physical condition/strength, and strong swimming skills are important.
