Your Jungle Explorer route

A look at the ride, from the briefing to its countryside highlights. This is a guide to the experience; the exact route and order of stops may change with weather, trail conditions, and your group’s pace.

  1. Before the ride

    Get comfortable with your ATV

Your guide starts with the safety and driving briefing, and you’re provided with a helmet. Let us know your group’s riding experience when booking, especially if anyone is new to ATVs or would prefer a passenger seat.

  2. Along the way

    Rural roads & countryside

The ride takes you through small rural communities and cattle country beyond Jaco. Backroads and countryside viewpoints are the focus here: a chance to explore the area away from the town centre with a guide who knows the route.

  3. Route highlight

The TulĂn River & iron bridge

The TulĂn River area and its iron bridge are key landmarks on the Jungle Explorer route. This part of the ride adds river scenery to the rural backroads. Your guide chooses the approach according to the conditions on the day.

  4. If time and pace allow

    El Tigre lookout & restaurant

There may be time to add the El Tigre lookout for valley views and a break at the restaurant. This is an optional stop on the 3-hour tour, rather than a guaranteed part of the route. Food and drinks are purchased separately. A portion of restaurant profits supports local conservation, reforestation, and care for rescued animals; a visit from the free-roaming birds is a special bonus when they stop by.

Our local advice

Enjoy the ride and countryside.

This is the shorter route without a waterfall visit. El Tigre may fit if your group’s pace and available time allow, but it is not a guaranteed stop.

We offer guided countryside routes only. These are not beach rides. Approved river crossings may be part of a route when conditions allow; riding along riverbeds is not part of the tour.

Good questions

3-hour Jungle Explorer FAQs

These answers cover the route and the details groups ask us about most.

Ask us about your date
Does the 3-hour ATV tour include a waterfall?

No. Jungle Explorer focuses on rural backroads, countryside scenery, and the TulĂn River bridge. For a waterfall visit, choose the 4-hour Sutton Falls Adventure or the 5-hour Deep Jungle Waterfalls tour.

Is Jungle Explorer a good choice for beginners?

It is the most beginner-oriented of our three ATV routes, and a safety and driving briefing is included. Off-road terrain and weather still affect the ride. Tell us about your experience and any concerns so we can help you choose suitable vehicles and a tour.

Will we stop at El Tigre?

Possibly, if your group’s pace and the available time allow. It is not a guaranteed stop on the 3-hour tour. If you do visit, food and drinks at the restaurant are purchased separately.

Is the tour private?

Yes. Your guided ATV tour is for your group. That does not mean exclusive use of the roads, viewpoints, or restaurant along the route.

Can someone ride as a passenger?

Passenger seats, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes are available by inquiry at an additional cost. Send your group size and any children’s ages, and we’ll confirm suitable vehicles, availability, and pricing. The advertised starting price is for a driver on a standard ATV.

What happens if it rains?

Rain can make the ride wet and muddy and change trail conditions. The operator may adjust the route for the conditions on the day. We can confirm the cancellation or rescheduling terms before you book.

Is this a beach ride or an ATV rental?

No. This is a guided countryside tour. It does not include beach driving, and JacoVIP does not offer independent ATV rentals. The TulĂn River area is a route highlight; riding along riverbeds is not part of the experience.
