The Tulín River & iron bridge

Backroads take you beyond Jaco into the countryside and the Tulín River area. Its iron bridge is one of the route’s landmarks, bringing river scenery into the ride before the waterfall visit.

Sutton Falls at Jaguar Waterfalls

Leave the ATVs for a visit to Sutton Falls on the privately owned Jaguar Waterfalls property. Admission is included in your tour price. This is the waterfall stop on the 4-hour route; the longer tour adds Coyote and Jaguar waterfalls.

When conditions allow, there is an opportunity to swim. Water levels and weather can affect access, so follow your guide’s instructions. Your tour is private for your group, but the waterfall property is not reserved exclusively for you.

The route includes a planned stop at El Tigre for valley views and a restaurant break. Food and drinks are purchased separately.

Jaguariders describes El Tigre as a reforestation project on former cattle land, with a restaurant run by nearby locals. Part of the income supports tree planting and care for rescued animals.

Choose 4 hours for riding and a waterfall visit

If a waterfall is on your wish list, this is the first of our three routes that includes one. The extra hour over Jungle Explorer adds Sutton Falls, with El Tigre also part of the planned route. Tell us what matters most to your group, especially if a swim is the main reason you’re booking.

Before you go

Pickup & timing

Round-trip transportation is included from Jaco, nearby Playa Hermosa, and Los Sueños. Starts are generally available from 8am to 1pm. We’ll confirm availability, your pickup time, and the expected return time when booking.

Who can drive?

Drivers must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license. Exceptions may be available with advance operator approval; inquire before booking. Tell us any children’s ages and whether you need passenger seating or a side-by-side.

The credit-card hold

A refundable damage hold is required on Visa or Mastercard: $500 for groups of 1–4 people or $1,000 for groups of 5 or more. It is separate from the tour price. Bring your card and confirm the hold terms before riding.

What to bring

Closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes that can get wet or muddy, a swimsuit and towel, your driver’s license and credit card, water, sun protection, and insect repellent. Bring money for food, drinks, and optional tips.

Which waterfall does the 4-hour ATV tour visit?

The planned waterfall stop is Sutton Falls on the privately owned Jaguar Waterfalls property. The route also includes the Tulín River bridge and a planned El Tigre lookout and restaurant stop.

Can we swim at Sutton Falls?

There may be an opportunity to swim when conditions allow. Swimming is not guaranteed: water levels, weather, and access can change. Bring a swimsuit and towel and follow your guide’s instructions on the day.

Is waterfall admission included?

Yes. Admission to the Jaguar Waterfalls property for the Sutton Falls visit is included in the 4-hour tour price. Food and drinks at El Tigre are purchased separately.

What’s the difference between the 4-hour and 5-hour tours?

The 4-hour route visits Sutton Falls. The 5-hour Deep Jungle Waterfalls tour includes Sutton, Coyote, and Jaguar waterfalls on the same property. Both have the Tulín River bridge and El Tigre on the planned route.

Is our tour private? Will we have the waterfall to ourselves?

Your guided ATV tour is private for your group. The waterfall property is privately owned, but your booking does not give you exclusive use of the waterfalls or swimming areas.

Can beginners join, or ride as passengers?

Let us know your group’s ATV experience and any concerns before booking. A safety and driving briefing is included. Passenger and side-by-side options are available by inquiry; send your group size and any children’s ages so we can confirm suitable seating and pricing.

What happens if rain changes the waterfall access?

The operator may adjust the route for weather, trail conditions, or water levels. A particular waterfall visit or swim cannot be guaranteed in every condition. Ask us about your date and the cancellation or rescheduling terms before you book.
